Blocking a domain or website by using keywords on the Linksys Gigabit VPN Router

The Linksys Gigabit VPN Router has features that filter access to certain websites.  These features are:
 
Block Forbidden Domains - this feature allows the router to block access to certain websites by entering their address.
Website Blocking by Keywords - this feature allows the router to block access to a certain website by the keywords contained in a webpage.

To configure the domain and website blocking on a Linksys Gigabit VPN Router, follow the steps below.
 
Block Forbidden Domains

 
Step 1:
Access the router's web-based setup page.  To learn how, click here.
 
Step 2:
Click Configuration > Firewall > Content Filter.

 
 
Step 3:
Click the Enable Block Forbidden Domains box and enter the website you want to block.  Then, click Add to list.
 
NOTE:  In this example we used www.playboy.com as the website domain to block.

Step 4:
Select a Time you want the website to remain blocked then click Save.  In this example, we used Always as the time rule.

NOTE:  In this example we used “nude” as the keyword to block.

Select a Time you want the website to remain blocked then, click Save.  In this example, we used Always as the time rule.
