Multicast is a feature on your Linksys router frequently used for multiple transmissions of multimedia and streaming data to specific recipients at the same time. This feature is enabled by default. If you want to block multicasting, you need to enable the Filter Multicast option to allow a single transmission to simultaneously reach specific recipients within your local network.
Filter Multicast is a security feature available on your Linksys router that allows you to sort out selective multiple transmissions for devices connected on the network.

Access your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account. To learn how, click here.
On the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi homepage, click the Security tool. The Filter Multicast option is available under the Internet Filter section.
NOTE: Filter Multicast checkbox is not ON by default. If you want to enable this feature, tick Filter Multicast checkbox, click Apply, and then Ok to save settings.
Once the page is up, click the Security tab. The Filter Multicast option is available under the Internet Filter section.
