Connect Express gives you the flexibility of being able to set up the Guest Access feature on your Linksys wireless-N router using your iPad®.
Guest Access is a feature on your router that will allow guests to connect to the Internet without accessing your main network, thus keeping your computers and personal files safe. You can also view your Linksys router's Guest Access settings through Connect Express.
This article will guide you in setting up wireless Guest Access using your iPad®. To learn how, follow the steps below:
NOTE: Make sure your iPad® has an active Internet connection and you have Connect Express installed. To know how to download and install the Connect Express Software, click here.
Launch Connect Express on your iPad®.
Tap Guest Access.
Tap Settings on the Guest Access screen.
Enter your preferred Guest network password in the Password field, then tap Done.
NOTE: If the Guest Access feature is disabled, make sure to enable it by sliding the button to ON.
Tap the drop-down menu to change the number of guests allowed to connect to the Guest network. Then, tap Done.
NOTE: The default number of guests allowed to connect is five (5). It is possible to allow up to 10 guests to connect to the Guest network at the same time.
As soon as the Guest Access feature is enabled, there will be a Wireless Network Name (SSID) similar to your main network’s with the –guest suffix that will be displayed on the list of available networks.
You should have successfully set up the Guest Access feature in your iPad® now.
