What is an iOS device?
device is developed to optimized media entertainment, gaming, and effortless communication. It also gives you convenience through built-in Wi-Fi and touch screen features. Common examples of iOS devices are iPhone®, iPad®, and iPod touch®.

Before connecting your iOS device to the wireless network, ensure that you take note of the wireless settings of your router. These include your router’s wireless network name (SSID)
and wireless security
. You can get these by accessing the router’s web-based setup page and checking the Wireless tab > Basic Wireless Settings
sub-tab. If you have a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account, just click Wireless
under the Router Setting

On your Home screen, tap the Settings icon.
Make sure the Wi-Fi is switched ON and then tap your router’s wireless network name (SSID) from the list.
Enter your router’s wireless security key or Password and tap Join.
NOTE: If your wireless network is unsecured, your iOS devices should be able to connect to it automatically after tapping your wireless network name.
Your iOS device should now be connected to your wireless network as indicated by the check mark beside the SSID.
If you encounter the error message “Incorrect password”, tap Dismiss
and re-enter your password correctly.NOTE:
Wireless security key or password is case-sensitive.
Other things to remember
If you are having problems connecting your iOS devices to your wireless network, try to do any of the following:
- If you are connecting to a wireless network with a WEP encryption, enter the “$” sign followed by the network key. If you still cannot connect to the wireless network, change the network encryption to WPA or WPA2 Personal and enter a password that you can easily remember.
- Check the AirPort® icon in the upper-left corner of the screen for the signal strength of the connection between your router and your iOS device.
- If you are still unable to connect to your secured wireless network despite entering the correct security key or password, you may try powering your iOS device OFF then switch it back ON.
- You may also try disabling the network security settings first then reconnect your iOS device to the network. Once you have connected to the wireless network, try setting up your router’s wireless security settings again.
- If you encounter the “Unable to join the network” error message, it could mean that the Wireless MAC Filter feature of your router is enabled, or the DHCP Server is disabled. You need to make sure that the Wireless MAC Filter of your router is disabled and the DHCP Server is enabled to be able to connect to your wireless network. You may also need to check the wireless settings of your router.
