Connecting a Roku® streaming player to your network

The RokuĀ® streaming player is a device that allows you to play online video content on your TV.Ā  There are two (2) ways of connecting it to your network:
Before you begin, please make sure of the following:
  • Your Internet connection is active.
  • Your Roku streaming player is connected to your TV and ready to be powered ON.
Wired connection

NOTE:Ā  Some Roku devices may not have an Ethernet port for wired connection.Ā  Follow the instructions for wireless connection instead.

Step 1:
Connect an Ethernet cable to your Roku's Ethernet port, then connect the other end to the Ethernet port on your router.


Step 2:
Turn ON your Roku streaming player.Ā  Its Guided Setup will direct you through the setting up process.

Step 3:
When prompted to connect to your network, select the wired option and complete the process.

When Internet connection is established, your Roku device might install available updates and reboot.
Ā 
Step 1:
Turn ON the Roku streaming player.Ā  You will be directed to the home screen.
Ā 
Step 2:
Press the OK button on the remote control to begin the setup process.
Ā 
Step 3:
Select Wireless when prompted to connect to your network.Ā  The player will start to scan for available wireless networks.

NOTE:Ā  Check the signal bars for the wireless network on your Roku streaming player.Ā  If youā€™re not receiving a good signal, try moving or rotating the player to achieve a stronger signal strength.

Step 4:
Select your wireless network name (SSID).
Ā 
Step 5:
Enter your wireless network password or security key, then proceed with the rest of the setup.

NOTE:Ā  The wireless network password is case-sensitive.Ā

As you complete the Roku setup process, your streaming player might install available updates and reboot.
