Apple TV® is a digital media receiver that lets you stream contents from iTunes®, Netflix, MLB.tv and other selected streaming media wirelessly in your network. This article will teach you on how to connect an Apple TV® to your Linksys router's wireless network.
NOTE: Make sure you know the wireless settings of your router before connecting your device to the network. To learn how to check the wireless settings of your Linksys router, click here. On your Apple TV®'s Home screen, go to Settings.
NOTE: If you're setting up your Apple TV® for the first time, you will only see two (2) options: Computers and Settings. This happens when the Apple TV® is not yet configured to connect to your Linksys router's network.
Select General > Network.
On the Network screen, select Configure Wi-Fi.
NOTE: Make sure that your router is already working wirelessly. This means that there should be another device or computer that can already get online wirelessly.
Select the wireless network name (SSID) from the list of available networks.
On the Wi-Fi Password screen, use the remote to enter the network password in the field provided and then select Submit. It will then try to connect.
NOTE: The network password is case-sensitive.
The Configuration Succeeded screen will appear confirming that your Apple TV® is now connected wirelessly. Select Done to complete the set up.
You will go back to the Network screen. It will now display your wireless network information such as your network name, IP address, wi-fi address and signal strength.
