What is iPad®?
The iPad is developed for optimized media entertainment, gaming and effortless communication. It also gives you convenience through built-in Wi-Fi and touch screen features. Connecting your iPad to the Internet is quick and simple.
Before setting up your iPad's connection, you have to take note of these information:
NOTE: The wireless network password is different from the router’s password. If you don't have your wireless settings, access your router's web-based setup page. For detailed information on retrieving your wireless settings, click here.
- Wireless network name (SSID)
- Wireless security mode
- Security key (password/passphrase)
Press the Home button.
Tap the Settings icon.
If the Wi-Fi status says Not Connected, toggle the Wi-Fi switch (located at the right side of the screen) to activate it.
Tap the wireless network name of your router.
NOTE: If the iPad can’t detect your wireless network’s name, but your other devices can, try enabling and disabling the Wi-Fi feature of the iPad. Check if the wireless network name is already in the list after doing so.
Enter the wireless network’s password on the Password field. This is the one that you copied under the Passphrase field while accessing the web-based setup page. Tap Join.
NOTE: If the Join button is grayed out after typing in the Password, this would imply that the password you entered is missing some characters.
Your iPad should now be connected to your wireless network as indicated by the check mark beside the wireless network’s name.
You should also see a solid AirPort® icon on the upper-left corner of your iPad when you are already connected to the network. The number of signal bars shows the strength of the connection between the router and your iPad’s adapter. However, it has no bearing on your network speed.
