This article describes how to connect the WGA600N to a PS3 using wireless-N capabilities.
Wire the WGA600N directly into an available Ethernet port on your router.
NOTE: This step is just for initial setup.
Use a computer that's already working on the network (wired would be preferred, but a wireless computer will also work), access the login page to the WGA600N by typing http://192.168.1.250 into a web browser and hit enter.
A login screen will appear. By default, the username is admin and the password is admin.
NOTE: If you receive the error message "Invalid Password, please try again," this means the password has been changed (possibly changed if you ran the setup wizard that came with the device). If you know what the password was changed to, enter that. (If you don't know what the password is, please reset the WGA600N by pressing the small reset button on the back of the device for 20 seconds).
Once you have successfully logged into the web configuration page of the WGA600N, select the Basic tab on the top of the page and click on the Wireless sub-tab.
Under the Wireless Network Name input your wireless network name or SSID. If you don't know the SSID and have a Linksys router, please click here to find out. If you don't have a Linksys router, please refer to the router manufacturer to retrieve your wireless settings.
For the rest of the settings under Wireless Network Settings, leave the following at the default values:
802.11 Band: 2.4GHz and 5GHz
802.11 Mode: Mixed 802.11na, 802.11a, 802.11ng, 802.11g, and 802.11b
Transmission rate: Best (automatic)
Channel Width: Auto 20/40 MHz
Scroll down to Wireless Security Mode select the Security Mode that's being used on your wireless network. If you are unaware of your wireless security settings, and you have a Linksys router, please click here.
Input your wireless security settings, then scroll to the top of the page and click on . Then click on Reboot Now.
Once the WGA600N has finished rebooting, type your username and password in again. Please refer to step no 3.
Click on the Status tab on the top of the page, and then click on the Device Info sub-tab.
Scroll down to Wireless LAN and look at the Status. If all the wireless settings were input correctly, the status should appear as "Associated with ".
Now unplug the power and Ethernet cables from the WGA600N and move it where the PS3 is located. Plug in the Ethernet cable from the WGA600N into the Ethernet port on the PS3. Plug in the power cable for the WGA600N. Power on the PS3.
From the main menu on the PS3 screen, go to Settings tab and click on Network Settings. Next, select Internet Connection Settings.
NOTE: Make sure you Enable your Internet Connection before you continue with the Internet Connection Settings.
Next, select Internet Connection Settings.
NOTE: If you receive the following message, please click Yes.
Follow the steps below for an easy way to setup your internet connection (recommended).
Select Easy for the setting method.
Select Automatic for the IP Address settings.
Select Do Not Set when the PS3 asks about a DHCP host name.
Select Automatic under DNS Setting.
Select Automatic under MTU.
Select Do Not Use under Proxy Server.
Select Enable under UPnP.
On the Settings List menu, press X ENTER.
Next, click Test Connection.
NOTE: As a result of your test connection, you will see a screen shown below.
Go back to the main PS3 menu and scroll over to Network and select Internet Browser. Try loading a web page to test the connection. If a page loads, then the WET610N has been successfully configured.
For the best wireless performance, make sure you have the following:
a. Make sure you are using a Wireless-N router.
b. Have the WGA600N placed as high as possible and away from the TV as far as possible.
c. Make sure the wireless router is placed as high as possible.
