Connecting your Android™ tablet to a wireless network with disabled SSID broadcast

Wireless networks with a disabled SSID broadcast will not let your wireless device see the network.  This is an added security feature of your Linksys wireless router to keep unknown devices from connecting to your wireless network.

This article will guide you on how to connect your Android™ tablet to a wireless network with a disabled SSID broadcast.

NOTE:  A Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is used as an example in this article.

Step 1:
Tap on Apps.

Step 2:
Select Settings.


Step 3:
Under Wireless and networks tab, tap on Wi-Fi settings.  The tablet will then scan for available networks in the area.

IMPORTANT:  Make sure the Wi-Fi feature of your device is enabled.

Step 4:
Scroll down and select Add Wi-Fi network.

Step 5:
In the Add Wi-Fi network window, enter your network’s wireless settings.

Step 6:
Tap Save.

You should have successfully connected your Android™ tablet to a wireless network with disabled SSID broadcast now.
