Yes. 

4. What USB standard does the Linksys EA6350 support?

The USB port supports 3.0, but is also backward-compatible with older versions of USB.

5. What is 802.11ac?

The 802.11ac technology works on the 5 GHz band.  The Linksys EA6350 can have a speed of up to 867 Mbps wirelessly when matched with an 802.11ac adapter.

6. Where can I find the router’s serial number?
 
The serial number is located at the bottom of your router.  
 
7. What processors do the Linksys EA6350 v1, v2 and v3 use?

The Linksys EA6350 v1 is using an 800 MHz Single core processor, the Linksys EA6350 v2 has a 1 GHz Dual core processor and the Linksys EA6350 v3 has a 710 MHz Quad core processor.

8. Does the Linksys EA6350 v1, v2 and v3 support Dual-Band Guest network?

Only the Linksys EA6350 v3 supports Dual-Band Guest Access.

INITIAL SETUP

1. How do I set up the Linksys EA6350?

There are two (2) ways to set up the Linksys EA6350 on the computer:
  • Smart Setup – The Smart Setup is embedded in the firmware of the latest Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers.  It allows you to run the setup from a web browser using a desktop/laptop computer or a mobile device.  To learn how to set up the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers using Smart Setup, click here.
  • Manually - There is an option to bypass the Smart Setup and log in straight into the web interface to manually configure the router.  On the home page of the Smart Setup, tick the I want to skip Setup and configure my router manually option and click Next.
 
2. Where can I see the default wireless network name (SSID) and passphrase of the Linksys EA6350?

The default SSID and passphrase of the Linksys EA6350 are printed on the product label underneath the device.
 
3. Will I be able to run the setup on a hardwired computer even though my wireless adapter is disabled?
 
Yes.  Just connect the router to the computer using an Ethernet cable and start the Smart Setup.
 
4. Can I change the default wireless settings during Smart Setup?
 
Yes.  When you run the Smart Setup, the wizard will automatically generate system-generated settings for you.  It will give you the option to modify the settings to your liking.  Ensure to write all information before proceeding with the setup.
 
5. What should I do if I reset the Linksys EA6350 and Smart Setup will not launch?

You can try the following troubleshooting steps:
  • Enter “linksyssmartwifi.com” or “192.168.1.1” in the Address bar of a web browser.
  • If your computer has a static IP Address, make sure it has valid DNS numbers.  If not, set the computer to obtain an IP Address automatically.  Retry the Smart Setup then, if needed, reassign a static IP Address back on the computer. 
6. Can I connect a USB hub to the USB port of the Linksys EA6350 to accommodate multiple devices?

No.

7. What is the default IP Address and password of the Linksys EA6350?

The default IP Address is 192.168.1.1 and admin is the default password.
 
8. Which wireless band can I use to achieve a speed of up to 867 Mbps?

The 5 GHz band is used to achieve a speed of up to 867 Mbps with an 802.11ac adapter.

9. How can I reset the Linksys EA6350 to factory defaults?

There are two (2) ways to reset the Linksys EA6350 to factory defaults:
  • Hardware Reset – Press and hold the Reset button at the back panel of your router for about 10 seconds then release.
  • Software Reset – Log in to your Linksys cloud account.  Under Router Settings, click Troubleshooting > Diagnostics.  Then, click Reset under Factory reset.
10. What indicator lights does the Linksys EA6350 have and what do they mean?
 
The Linksys EA6350 has Power, WPS, Ethernet, and Internet LEDs.  To learn more about the LED indicators, click

11. Can I turn OFF the LEDs on the router?
 
Yes.  Log in to your Linksys cloud account.  Go to Connectivity and, under the Basic tab, set Port Lights to OFF.

IMPORTANT:  This option will ONLY turn OFF the LEDs of the Ethernet ports at the back of the router.

1. How many wireless security modes does the Linksys EA6350 support?
 
The router supports seven (7) wireless security options:  WPA2™/WPA™ Mixed Personal, WPA2 PersonalWPA Personal, WPA2/WPA Mixed Enterprise, WPA2 Enterprise, WPA Enterprise, and WEP.

2. Does the Linksys EA6350 allow VPN tunnels to pass through the router?

Yes.  The Linksys EA6350 allows VPN tunnels using IPSec, L2TP or PPTP protocols to pass through the router.

3. Does the Linksys EA6350 support SPI firewall?

Yes. 

4. Does the Linksys EA6350 offer a Filter IDENT that block specific Internet data types?

Yes, this feature keeps port 113 from being scanned by devices outside your local network.

5. What is a Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and what is it used for?
 
A Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) allows one (1) local user to be exposed to the Internet for use of a special-purpose service, such as Internet gaming and videoconferencing.  DMZ hosting forwards all the ports at the same time to one (1) computer.  Port Forwarding is more secure because it only opens the ports you want to open.

ADVANCED TROUBLESHOOTING

1. What DDNS providers does the Linksys EA6350 support?

The Linksys EA6350 supports DynDNS.org and TZO.com providers.

2. How many Internet connection types does the Linksys EA6350 support?

The router supports six (6) Internet connection types:  Automatic Configuration - DHCP, Static IP, PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP, and Bridge Mode.

3. What is MAC Address Clone and what is it used for?

Some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) will require you to register your computer's MAC Address in order to access the Internet.  If you do not wish to register the MAC Addresses of multiple computers with your ISP, you may assign the MAC Address that is already registered to the router using the MAC Address Clone feature. 

4. When would a user want to select Bridge Mode for an Internet Connection Type?

Selecting Bridge Mode for an Internet Connection Type is done for the following purposes:
  • When your Internet Service Provider (ISP) requires it.
  • When you want to connect two (2) routers with the capability of sharing network resources like file and printer sharing.
  • When you want to use the router as an additional access point on an existing network.
  • When you need to disable the router functionalities to work with third party devices.
  • When you need to solve Network Address Translation (NAT) issues.

5. What is Port Forwarding?

Port Forwarding is a feature available in Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers that enables faster and safer sending and receiving of specific data requests from a computer to the Internet.  With the Single Port Forwarding feature, you will apply rules on your router to let it know that one (1) particular port is open to receive a requested data.  To learn how to set up Single Port Forwarding on your Linksys cloud account, click

6. What is Port Triggering?

7. Can I print to a shared printer on the network while wirelessly connected to the Guest network?
 
No.  The Guest network is a separate network that ONLY provides Internet access to wireless devices.  The router limits communication with other computers.  It has a different password from the main network and does not allow access to files or printers within the main network.

8. What is UPnP?
 
Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) allows Windows to automatically configure the router for various Internet applications, such as gaming and videoconferencing.

9. How do I close an account?

Closing the account means deactivating an email address that has a Linksys cloud account associated to it.  To do this, click

NOTE:  This option will only appear when you are signed in to your Linksys cloud account.
 
10. What will happen if the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi is down but I still have Internet connection?

When the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi is down but the Internet is up, a new message will appear prompting you to log in using your Router admin password.
 
11. Can I change the IP Address of my router to 192.168.3.1 which is the IP scheme used by the Guest network?

12. How do I upgrade the firmware of the Linksys EA6350?

Log in to your Linksys cloud account.  Go to Connectivity and, under the Basic tab, check the Automatic checkbox.  This will automatically upgrade the Linksys EA6350 if there is a new firmware available.  You may also click the Check for Updates button to check if there is a new firmware available.

13. Is it possible to back up and restore settings on the Linksys EA6350?
 
Yes.  To back up the router settings, access your Linksys cloud account.  Under Router Settings, click Troubleshooting > Diagnostics > Backup.  The new window will prompt you to save your configuration file (.cfg).  Click Save then select your preferred location.  Click Save again and wait until the backup process is completed.

To restore the router settings, access your Linksys cloud account.  Under Router Settings, click Troubleshooting > Diagnostics > Restore > Choose File.  On the new window that appears, locate and select your configuration file (.cfg).  Click Save.  Click Start to Restore to begin the restoration process.  On the Important pop-up, click Yes.  On the Router Reboot pop-up, click OK.  Wait for the restoration process to finish.

14. What is the media server?

It allows DLNA®-certified devices including digital media players, gaming consoles, and digital picture frames to access video, music, and pictures that are stored on a USB hard drive that is connected to the Linksys EA6350.

15. Does the Linksys EA6350 support Remote Management?

Yes, the Linksys EA6350 supports Remote Management to other network devices behind the router. 

NOTE:  The Linksys EA6350 does not support Remote Management to the router's web interface without using a Linksys cloud account.

16. What steps should I do if I experience slow download speed?
 
If multiple wired and wireless devices experience Internet speed issues, try contacting your ISP for problem isolation.  If not, click

18. The Parental Controls blocks HTTPS but returns an error page instead of redirecting to the Parental Controls screen.  Is this a normal behavior?

Yes.  Website addresses beginning with https:// can be blocked.  But because they have encryption, the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi router cannot redirect you to the Parental Controls screen.  Instead of a page telling you the address has been blocked, you will see a browser error page. 


19. Does this support IPv6 RD for its internet connection?

Yes. It supports IPv6 RD and 6to4 tunneling.
