How do I find my model number?

Troubleshooting may often require you to know your device’s model and serial number.  Aside from the device itself, the serial number of your Linksys device is also printed on the box.  Select a product category below to know how to find the model and the serial number of your Linksys device.

EA and E-Series

 
Step 1:
Look at the top of the device.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found underneath or next to the logo.  In the example below, the model number of the device is E3200.
 
NOTE:  For EA9200, the model number is found on the sticker underneath the vertical stand.
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located on the sticker underneath the device.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 
 
Blue and Black

 
Step 1:
Flip the device over.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found on the sticker underneath the device.  In the example below, the model number of the device is WRT54G.
 
NOTE:  For WRT1900AC, the model number is located on the front panel, below the Linksys logo. 
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located on the sticker underneath the device.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 
 
Silver

 
Step 1:
Look at the back panel of the router when it is standing vertically.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found on the sticker at the back.  In the example below, the model number of the device is WRT54GX4.
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located right below the model number.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 

 
Wireless Routers with Voice Ports
 
Step 1:
Look at the back panel of the router when it is standing vertically.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found on the sticker at the back.  In the example below, the model number is WRTP54G V.2.
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located right below the model number.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 
 
Wireless VPN Routers

 
Step 1:
Look at the back panel of the router when it is standing vertically.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found on the sticker at the back.  In the example below, the model number is WRV54G.
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located right below the model number.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 

Wireless Access Points
 
Step 1:
Look at the front panel.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found below the Linksys logo.  In the example below, the model number is WAP610N.
 
NOTE:  For older Linksys wireless access points, flip the device over.  The model number is found on the sticker underneath the device. 
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located on the sticker underneath or at the back of the device.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 

 
WIRELESS RANGE EXTENDERS / EXPANDERS
 
Step 1:
Look at the top of the device.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found below the Linksys logo.  In the example below, the model number is RE3000W.
 
NOTE:  For older Linksys wireless range extenders or expanders, flip the device over.  The model number is found on the sticker underneath the device. 
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located on the sticker underneath the device.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.

 
 
WIRELESS ADAPTERS
 
PC Card or Card Bus

 
Step 1:
If your adapter is already connected to the computer, shut down your computer and remove the adapter.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found on the device itself.  In the example below, the model number is WPC54G ver.7.

Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located right below the model number.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 

 
PCI Adapter
 
Step 1:
If your adapter is already connected to the computer, shut down your computer and remove the adapter.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found on the device itself.  In the example below, the model number is WMP54G ver.4.1.
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located right below the model number.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 
 
USB Wireless Adapter

 
Step 1:
The model number can be found on the sticker underneath or at the back of the device.  In the example below, the model number is AE6000.
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located right below the model number.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 
CAMERAS
 
Step 1:
Look at the back panel of the device.

 

Step 2: 
Find the model number and serial number on the sticker found at the back of the device.  See the image below.

NOTE:  Take note of the exact model and version number of your Linksys device.  In this example, the model number is WVC54GC.

NOTE:  If there is NO VERSION NUMBER beside the model number, this means it is version 1.


WIRED ROUTERS
 
Blue and Black

 
Step 1:
Flip the device over.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found on the sticker underneath the device.  In the example below, the model number of the device is BEFSR41 ver.4.1.
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located right below the model number.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 
WIRED ADAPTERS
 
PCI Adapters

 
Step 1:
If your adapter is already connected to the computer, shut down your computer and remove the adapter.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found on a sticker on the device.  In the example below, the model number is LNE100TX VERSION 4.1.
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located right below the model number.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 
 
SWITCHES
 
SE Switches (Blue and Black)

 
Step 1:
Look at the front panel.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found under the Linksys logo, on the upper-left side.  In the example below, the model number of the device is SE3024.
 
NOTE:  For SE4008, the model number is found underneath the device.
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located at the back of your device.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 
 
SE Switches (Black)

 
Step 1:
Look at the top of the device.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found under or next to the logo.  In the example below, the model number of the device is SE1500.
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located underneath the device.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 
 
BRIDGES

 
Step 1:
Look at the front panel.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found below the Linksys logo.  In the example below, the model number of the device is WUMC710.
 
NOTE:  For older Linksys wireless bridges, flip the device over.  The model number is found on the sticker underneath the device.  
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located right below the model number.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 
 
MEDIA HUB

 
Step 1:
Flip the device over.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found on the sticker on the underside of the device.  In the example below, the model number is NMH410.
 
Serial and model numbers:  The serial number is located right underneath the model number.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.
 
 
WIRELESS HOME AUDIO

 
Step 1:
Flip the device over.
 
Step 2:
The model number can be found on the sticker on the underside of the device.  In the example below, the model number of the device is DMC250.
 
Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located right below the model number.  If there is no version number beside the model number, this means it is version 1.

Step 1:
Flip the node over.

 
Step 2:
The model number can be found below the Linksys logo.  In the example below, the model number of the device is WHW03.

Serial and version numbers:  The serial number is located right below the model number.  If there is no version number beside the model
number, this means it is version 1.
