The Linksys Connect software is used to manage your wireless network and the devices that you want to connect to it in the easiest way possible. A Setup CD containing Linksys Connect is included in each device that is compatible with the software. If you don’t have the CD, you may download the software at the Linksys Support Site.
Take note that NOT all devices are compatible with Linksys Connect. Refer to the table below for a list of devices that work with the software.
|Linksys Wi-Fi Routers||E800|
|Valet and Valet Plus Hotspots||M10|
|Linksys X-series Gateways||X1000|
QUICK TIP: The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers have a free service bundle called the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi that allows users to access the router, configure, and check the home network instantly from anywhere. To know more about this, click here.
Once you have verified that the software is compatible with your device, you may now proceed with the software download. Follow the instructions below:
Enter the Model Number of your device on the Search by Product or Model Number search field and click the model number of your device. In the example below, the software for an E4200 router is being downloaded.
I'm not quite sure what my device's model number is, how do I figure it out? Flip the device over, and you'll find the model number on the label. You may also click on the Where's my model number? link for further assistance.
How do I know which hardware version I am using? The hardware version can be seen together with the model number on the label located under the router. It usually follows the vx format, where x is any given number (i.e. v3). If you do not see any, then the device's hardware version is 1.
You will be directed to the product's support page. Scroll down and click the Download Software link.
Click the hardware version of your device.
Select the operating system of your computer and click the Download link to download the file.
Once the popup window appears, click Save File. Make sure to select a location where you want to save the file (preferably on the Desktop).
NOTE: Some browsers will save their downloaded file on the Downloads Folder.
.exe or .dmg? - Do not be confused between these two (2) file extensions for Linksys Connect downloads. If you are downloading the software for a Windows computer, .exe will be the file extension. If you are using a Mac® computer then .dmg will be used instead.
Once you have completed the download for the Linksys Connect Software, you will now be able to set up your router or gateway. Click on the links below for detailed instructions on how to set up your Linksys device using Linksys Connect:
