Checking WiFi connectivity with your router

This article will guide you on how to check WiFi connectivity with your Linksys router.

1. Right-click on the WiFi icon then click Network and Internet settings.

2. On the Network & internet window, you can see the WiFi icon with your network name. This indicates that you are currently connected to your network.

If there are instances wherein you cannot confirm WiFi connectivity, it could be that your computer’s WiFi network adapter is disabled. This is indicated by this icon sf140521-003_en_v5.png appearing on the system tray or the disappearance of any icons indicating WiFi connections. To solve this issue, follow the steps below.
 

1. Right-click on the WiFi icon then click Network and Internet settings.

2. On the Network & internet window, scroll down and select the Advance network settings.

3. Under Network adapters, click Enable.

Your network adapter should now be enabled. 

 

If the network adapter is already enabled and you are still unable to detect WiFi networks, the WiFi capability of your computer might be turned OFF. To turn it ON, go to Network and Internet settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi.

Toggle the button to the On position.

You should now see the list of available WiFi networks in your area.

1. Right-click on the WiFi icon then click Open Network & Internet settings.

2. On the Network status window, you can see the WiFi icon with your network name and a You're connected to the Internet message. This indicates that you are currently connected to your network.

If it cannot detect WiFi networks, the WiFi capability of your computer might be turned OFF.  To turn it ON, right-click on the WiFi icon on the taskbar then click Open Network & Internet settings > Wi-Fi.

Toggle the button to the On position.

You should now see the list of available WiFi networks in your area.


Another possible reason you cannot detect your WiFi network is that your router's WiFi name may have changed. To resolve this issue, you may check the WiFi settings of your router.

 



macOS® Monterey


1. Click on the Airport icon. On the drop-down menu, you will see a list of available network names.

When you see your network name with a blue WiFi icon next to it, this indicates that you are currently connected to your network.
