1. What is WUSB54G?

The Linksys WUSB54G is a Wireless-G USB Network Adapter that offers high performance connectivity to most wireless networks. WUSB54G works for laptops and desktops by just plugging it into the USB port.

2. What is the limited warranty for the WUSB54G?

3. What are the minimum requirements my computer has to meet to use this device?

  • Computer with 400MHz or faster processor
  • 128 MB RAM
  • CD-ROM drive
  • USB port
  • Windows 98SE, ME, 2000 or XP with Service Pack 1 or later

4. Does WUSB54G work on Windows 7?

No.

1. What is the recommended encryption type to use for this device?

Strong WPA encryption helps keep your communications and information private.

2. How many Secure Easy Setup (SES) devices can I add at a time?

Only one (1) device can be added at a time.

LEDS

1. What LEDs does the WUSB54G have and what do they mean?

  • Power (Green) - The Power LED lights up when the adapter is powered ON.
  • Link (Green) - The Link LED lights up when the adapter has an active wireless connection.

TROUBLESHOOTING 

1. What should I do if I have to reinstall the adapter but I lost the Setup CD?

You can reinstall the adapter even without using the Setup CD that came with it.  You just have to download the driver for the adapter from the Linksys Support Site and use it to reinstall the adapter.  For more detailed instructions, click here.

1. Is the device also compatible with Wireless-B networks?

 Yes.

2. What is a Wireless Network Monitor?

The Wireless Network Monitor is the Link Information screen.  This utility is installed once your wireless adapter is successfully set up.  From this screen, you can see the wireless signal strength and the wireless connection’s quality the computer is getting using the device.  You can also click More Information to view additional status information about the current wireless connection.

3. What is the purpose of Site Survey screen?

The Site Survey screen displays a list of available networks that the computer is able to detect using the wireless adapter.  The table shows each network’s SSID, Channel and the quality of the wireless signal the adapter is receiving.

4. What is the purpose of the profile screen?

The Profiles screen lets you save different configuration profiles for different network setups.  The table on the left displays a list of available profiles with their profile names and wireless network names.
