Setting-Up a PlayStation®2 with a Wireless-B Game Adapter

NOTE: Before trying to connect your Wireless-B Game Adapter to a wireless network, please know your SSID, Wireless Security and/or Network Key. If you’re using a Linksys for instructions on how to get these settings, click here. If you’re using a non-Linksys router and you do not have these settings, consult your wireless router’s user guide or contact the manufacturer for assistance.

Make sure that PlayStation®2 works when wired to the router before proceeding. If it’s not working and you have a Linksys router, click here for instructions to set it up. If you’re not using a Linksys router consult the user guide or contact the manufacturer for assistance.

Setting-Up the Wireless-B Game Adapter

Step 1:
Connect the Wireless Game Adapter to your router using an Ethernet cable. For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
Insert the Setup CD to your CD-ROM drive and run the Setup Wizard. A screen similar to Step 3 should appear.

Step 3:
Click Setup to begin the set up process.

Step 4:
The Setup Wizard will then search for the game adapter. If it cannot detect the presence of the game adapter, check the connections then click Continue.

Step 5:
When the next screen shows the current settings of the game adapter, click Next to continue.

Step 6:
When the game adapter is located, enter “admin” on the Password field and click Enter.

Step 7:
Make sure Obtain IP Address automatically is selected then, click Next.

Step 8:
Under Mode, select Internet then enter your wireless network’s SSID on the SSID field.

Step 9:
Select the correct encryption set on the wireless network.

If WEP is set to Disabled, it means there’s no security enabled on the wireless network. Click No and proceed to Step 11 for the next instruction.

If WEP is enabled, select the same WEP encryption level either 64 bit or 128 bit.

NOTE: In this example 128 bit was selected.

Step 10:
Enter a unique word under Passphrase or manually enter a WEP key and leave the Passphrase option blank. In this example “MySecretKey” is used as the Passphrase. You may click No to finish the configuration or Yes if you want to configure another profile.

NOTE: In this example, No was selected.

Step 11:
Click Exit and you’re done configuring the game adapter.

Step 12:
Connect an Ethernet cable to the Wireless-B Game Adapter’s Ethernet port to the PlayStation®2.
