1. What should I do if my client device cannot communicate with the wireless router through the Linksys WES610N v2?

The client device can only communicate with the router through the Linksys WES610N Wireless-N Universal Media Connector when the wireless security and wireless settings of both devices are in-sync.  To know how to check the basic wireless settings of your media connector via the web-based setup page, click here.

2. What is the default IP address of the WES610N v2?

If the Linksys WES610N Wireless-N Universal Media Connector is connected to a network with a DHCP server, which is usually the router, the media connector will automatically obtain its IP address from the DHCP server.  If there is no DHCP server, then the media connector will use 10.100.1.1 as the default IP address.  To know how to access the WES610N v2 media connector’s web-based setup page, click here.

3. What should I do if a computer or other wired, Ethernet-capable device will not communicate with another wireless device such as a laptop computer or a wireless printer?

If your wired device is unable to connect with a wireless device within the network, ensure the following:

  • If these devices are connected to the WES610N v2 instead of the main router, make sure that your media connector is connected to the network.
  • Make sure the wireless-enabled device is on the same wireless network as the computer or other wired, Ethernet device connected to your media connector.
  • Make sure that the same wireless network name (SSID) is used for all devices on the wireless network.
  • Make sure all devices are on the same IP network range.

4. What should I do if the web-based setup page of the Linksys WES610N v2 does not accept my password?

If you are having difficulties in accessing the web-based setup page of the Linksys WES610N v2, check the following:

  • The password is case-sensitive.  Make sure that you are using the correct case(s) when entering the password.
  • If you forgot your password, you can reset the bridge to its factory defaults.  To learn how to reset the Wireless-N Ethernet Bridge to factory defaults, click here.  This will change the password back to "admin".

5. What should I do if the new settings I’ve configured for the Linksys WES610N v2 are not displayed on the web-based setup page?
