Unique software features of the Linksys Wireless-N Access Points with PoE

The Linksys Wireless-N300 Access Point with PoE, LAPN300 and the Linksys Wireless-N600 Dual Band Access Point with PoE, LAPN600 have the latest Wi-Fi technology to offer a powerful wireless network.  These access points provide wireless connection to a wired network or extend the wireless coverage of an existing wireless network.  Through these, employees can bring their own devices to work, and deploy access point easily with Power over Ethernet (PoE) supported.
 
The Linksys LAPN300 and the LAPN600 have the following features:
 
1.  Quick Start Setup Wizard
 
-  Allows the user to configure the basic features of the access point during initial setup such as the following:
  • Device Password
  • Time Settings
  • IPv4 Address
  • Network Name
  • Wireless Security 
2.  Dual Image for LAPN600
 
-  The LAPN600 supports dual image.  This feature can minimize the risk of the device stopping work from flash error like an upgrade failure.
-  When the device is up, one image is active and another is not.  Inactive images will be upgraded when the firmware is upgraded and becomes active afterwards. 

3.  Scheduler
 
-  Allows the user to configure a rule with a specific time interval for SSIDs to be operational.  This feature automates enabling or disabling SSIDs based on the profile definition.  It supports up to 16 profiles and each profile can include four (4) time rules.
-  Allows users to manage their wireless network by time.
 
4.  Discover Method
  • Bonjour 
-  The access point will be automatically discovered by Bonjour-enabled devices when this option is enabled.
-  If VLAN is enabled, the discovery packets will be sent out via management VLAN only.
-  The access point supports http and https services. 
  • LLDP 
-  The access point will be discovered by a switch by LLDP when this option is enabled.
-  Information such as product name, device name, firmware version, IP address, MAC address and so on will be advertised.
 
  • LLDP-MED 
-  The access point will be discovered by a switch by LLDP-MED when this option is enabled.
-  Information such as product name, device name, firmware version, IP address, MAC address and so on will be advertised.
 
5.  IPv6
-  Supports IPv6 host feature
-  LAPN300/600 can be configured to IPv6 IP address manually or get an automatic IP address from DHCPv6 server.
-  Supports the following applications over IPv6:
  • WEB/SSL
  • SNTP
  • SNMP
  • PINGv6
  • Syslog
