Device Prioritization

Device Prioritization allows you to prioritize internet usage per device.  High Priority devices (wired or wireless) will always stay connected.  Normal Priority devices share the leftover capacity.  Drag and drop devices to change priority.

NOTE:  It is recommended to put devices used to stream video or play online games and other demanding applications on High Priority.

Device Prioritization uses the results of a speed test to determine the amount of your internet capacity to direct to high priority devices.  If you feel the results of the Velop speed test are inaccurate, you can input the speeds manually.  It is important that the numbers are accurate to get the most out of this feature.  It is recommended for you to go to http://speedtest.net on your laptop or contact your internet service provider (ISP) to find your actual speed and then enter it manually.

An automatic speed test will begin when you open the Device Prioritization page.

Speed CheckThe Speed Test feature is a helpful feature that measures the download (from the internet) and upload (to the internet) speeds of your Wi-Fi.  Speed test is a good way to find out whether you are getting the level of service provided by your ISP.
