Connecting wireless computers to your WiFi

This article will teach you how to connect your wireless computer to your WiFi.  To establish a connection to the network, your computer should be configured to have the same WiFi name (SSID) and password as the router.  

This article assumes that your WiFi is secured.  To learn more, click on your operating system below.

Step 1:
Click on the Wi-Fi sf135794-001_en_v5.png icon in the menu bar.  

Step 2:
Click on the WiFi you want to join.

NOTE:  If you don’t see the WiFi you want to connect to, click on Other Networks to display nearby networks.

Step 3:
When prompted, enter the password for the WiFi, then click Join.

Your computer should now be connected to the WiFi.  The Wi-Fi icon beside your WiFi name will also be highlighted.

Windows® 11
 
Step 1:
Click on the Network, Sound, or Battery sf135794-005_en_v5.png icons on the bottom-right corner of the screen (taskbar). 
 
Step 2:
Click on the Manage Wi-Fi connections icon sf135794-006_en_v5.png.
 
Step 3:
Click on your WiFi, then click Connect.

Step 4:
When prompted, enter your WiFi password or network security key, then click on Next.

Your computer should now be connected to the WiFi.

The Network sf135794-010_en_v5.png icon on the taskbar will also change to show that your computer is connected.  
 
Windows 10

 
Step 1:
Click on the Network sf135794-011_en_v5.png icon on the far-right side of the taskbar.
 
Step 2:
Click on your WiFi, then click Connect.

Step 3:
When prompted, enter your WiFi password or network security key, then click on Next.

Step 4:
If prompted to allow your computer to be discoverable by other PCs and devices in your network, click on Yes or No, depending on the type of network that you want to connect to.

Your computer should now be connected to the WiFi.

The Network sf135794-016_en_v5.png icon on the taskbar will also change to show that your computer is connected.
