Why does my Android™ device automatically connect to the 2.4 GHz band

Most Android™ devices prefer range over speed.  If the Wi-Fi Name is the same on your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz dual-band network, by default, your Android device will automatically connect to the 2.4 GHz band.
