What is Live view?

Live view shows you the intensity of motion happening in your home right now.  If you have enough motion devices (three or more), you can also see which device the motion is happening closest to.

How motion displays

Movement is represented by waves.  The bigger the wave, the more intense the motion.

If you have three or more devices, you’ll see which motion device the movement is nearest.

You can assign smart home devices to act as motion sensors and build an even more comprehensive picture of where motion is happening in your home.

Just tap on the User-added image icon on the upper right-hand corner of Live view to add, edit, and manage your current devices.

Why is motion displaying when there is no motion?

Small indoor objects (things like curtains, robot vacuums, or even neighbors behind shared walls) may trigger motion.  Pets may also trigger motion based on their size and the intensity of their movement, as well as their proximity to the motion device.

If motion is triggered by movement outside of your walls, you may want to select motion devices that are farther away from shared walls.

Why is no motion displaying when there is motion?

There are a few possible reasons:

  • There might be a minor delay between motion happening and motion displaying on the Live view.  This is normal and helps prevent false positives.
  • One of your motion devices in the area may have gone offline.  Check the Live view to make sure all your devices are connected to the WiFi.

Why do I have a motion dead spot despite having a WiFi connection?

There may not be enough motion devices in your home for full motion coverage.  Try adding another compatible device in a room with poor motion coverage.  To learn more about Linksys Aware-compatible devices, click here.  If you encounter an error code, click here for troubleshooting suggestions.

Motion detection is too vague to be helpful

If you just have two motion devices, you will only see general motion.  Add another motion device to get detailed information about where in your home motion might be happening.  The more motion devices you have (provided they are at least 16 feet apart from each other), the better we’ll be able to tell you where exactly in your home the motion is happening.

Why can’t I see Live view?

It might be because:

  • You logged in to the Linksys app with your router password.  You can only access Linksys Aware when logged in with your email address.
  • You only have one motion device online.  If that’s the case, either add more motion devices, or troubleshoot any that may have gone offline.  We’ll walk you through the steps in the app.  For instructions on how to add or remove motion-sensing devices on Linksys Aware, click here.

I’m seeing an error code

Sorry about that.  That means something has gone wrong.  Find your error code and our suggested fix in the list below.

  • M100:  Motion sensing stopped unexpectedly.  If your subscription is current and your nodes are online, restart your mesh system.
  • M102:  Linksys Aware can't communicate with our servers.  Log out of the app and log back in.  If that doesn't work, restart your mesh system.
  • M103:  We can't find your subscription.  Look in the My Account screen to see if your subscription has expired.  If you have an active subscription, contact Linksys support.
  • M104:  We're still setting up your subscription.  Please wait for a few minutes and try again.  If that doesn't work, restart your mesh system.
  • M105:  Linksys Aware is restarting.  Please wait for a few minutes and try again.
  • M106:  Your system isn't receiving any motion data.  Please wait for a few minutes and try again.
