Changing the Wi-Fi Settings of the Linksys Business Dual-Band Cloud Access Points

The Linksys Business Dual-Band Cloud Access Points distribute secure Wi-Fi connection to different networks and provide cloud management features so you can monitor your networks from anywhere at any time.  
 
Follow the steps below to learn how to create a secure SSID through the Linksys Cloud Manager and the local interface.

Step 1:
Access your Cloud account.  For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
Select a network.

Click on SSIDs.

Step 4:
Click on Create wireless name.

NOTE:  If a wireless SSID already exists, you will see the New wireless SSID button instead.

Step 5:
Enter your preferred SSID in the Name field.

Step 6:
You can decide to leave the Authentication open or you can click on Password to create a WPA2 password for the SSID.  
 
NOTE:  The Linksys Cloud Manager only supports open or WPA2™ password.  To use other types of security such as WEP, WPA™ Personal, WPA/WPA2 Personal, WPA2 Enterprise, WPA/WPA2 Enterprise or RADIUS, you will need to disable the cloud manager and manage the access point using the local interface only.  To learn more, click

Step 7:
The SSID will automatically be assigned to all access points in the network.  If you want to assign the SSID to a specific access point, click on the Change link and then select an access point. 

Step 8:
Once you are satisfied with your settings, click on Create.  
 
You have now created a secure SSID using the Cloud account.  
 
  
Step 1:
Access the web interface of the access point.  To learn how, click here.
 
Step 2:
Click on Configuration then click on Wireless> Basic Settings.

Step 3:
Select and enable the radio then set up a network mode and channel for your SSID.

Step 4:
Enter your preferred SSID name then verify or set up the following settings: Enable, Broadcast, Isolation, VLAN, and Max Clients.  

NOTE:  The access point supports up to eight SSIDs.

Step 5:
Click on Save once you are satisfied with your settings.
 
Step 6:
To create a password for the SSID, click on Security on the left panel.

Select an SSID.

Select a security mode for the SSID then enter a password.


Step 9:
Once you are satisfied with your settings, click on Save.
 
You have now created a secure SSID using the local web interface.
