How to create a VLAN on the Linksys Business Gigabit VPN Routers, LRT214 and LRT224

The Linksys Business Gigabit VPN Routers, LRT214 and LRT224 support up to five (5) sets of Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) which are used to divide networks into several segments.  This will enable administrators to manage networks easily and reduce the broadcast domain in order to enhance the network performance and security through isolation.

Follow the instructions below on how to create a VLAN on a Linksys Business Gigabit VPN Router.

Step 1:
Access the router's web-based setup page.  To learn how, click here.

Step 2:
Click the Configuration tab on the header.

Step 3:
Click Setup > Network in the navigation tree on the left side.

Step 4:
Under LAN SETTING, click Add a VLAN.

Step 5:
Enter your desired VLAN name under Description.

Step 6:
Set the Inter VLAN Routing to Enabled if you want to allow this VLAN to communicate with other sets of VLAN.  If not, set this to Disabled.
