Can’t log in using the router’s admin password

During setup, an administrative password is automatically created to secure your node.
You may use this to access your Velop system locally even if the Linksys cloud account is temporarily unavailable.  This password will not be visible and must be changed on your end.

Follow these steps to change your router's admin password:

Step 1:
Log in to the Velop dashboard using your Linksys cloud account and go to Velop Administration.  To learn how, click
here.

Step 2:
Tap Change Velop Password and Hint.

Step 3:
Tap the Admin Password field to enter your new password and create a Password Hint then tap Save.

If you are unable to log in with your Linksys cloud account, you will need to recover your admin password.  For instructions, click
here.

Restoring to factory defaults

Restoring the Velop to its factory default settings should be your last resort since it will disconnect all the wireless devices connected to the Wi-Fi.  You will also need to go through the setup process again since the settings you have customized (e.g. Wi-Fi name, password, and security type) will be erased.

Follow these steps to reset your Velop nodes:
  1. If you are resetting the secondary node only - Press and hold until the light on top of the node turns red, fades, and flashes bright red again to reset the node to its factory defaults.
  2. If you are resetting the first or primary node
  • Follow the same steps as above.
  • You MUST reset the rest of your secondary nodes and set up your Velop system all over again.
NOTE:  Once you reset a primary node, you must also reset the secondary node even if you used the same settings prior to resetting them.  Otherwise, clients connected to the secondary node will have no internet connection since it isn’t part of the Velop network.

Want to finish setup?

If the Linksys app was closed during the setup, Velop now has a new screen to resume the setup.  When you launch the Linksys app again, it will ask if you would like to continue with the setup.  Tap Continue setup to customize your settings.  Otherwise, tap I don't want to continue with setup.
