WAN Setup

The WAN Setup page allows you to configure your internet connection settings. You may choose from the following:
  • Automatic Configuration - DHCP – Select this to get different IP addresses each time you start your computer.
  • Static IP – Select this if you're required to use the same IP address each time you connect to the internet. If so, enter the information for your internet address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS entries provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
  • PPPoE – Select Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) if your ISP uses this method to establish internet connection. PPPoE allows ISPs to manage accounts via a username and password.
  • Bridge Mode – Select this option to use Bridge Mode if your ISP requires it. You can choose to obtain an IP address automatically or enter the information for your internet address, subnet mask, default gateway and DNS entries. These details are provided by your ISP.
  • Wireless Bridge – Select this to allow the router to act like a wireless adapter.
NOTE: The Wireless Bridge Mode is not supported on the Linksys Dual-Band WiFi Router with the EasyMesh feature enabled.

MAC Address Clone

A Media Access Control (MAC) address is a unique identifier pre-assigned to the network adapter of the computer. This is used by most cable ISPs for authentication so subscribers can establish internet connection. Enabling the MAC Address Clone feature will allow your ISP to recognize the router as the computer with the registered MAC Address.
