- Connecting the Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge to an Ad-Hoc Network
To connect the Ethernet Bridge to an Ad-Hoc network, you have to access the Ethernet Bridge’s web-based setup page and configure its wireless settings to match with the Ad-Hoc network’s.
NOTE: Before connecting your Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge to an Ad-Hoc network, you have to first determine your network’s existing SSID, wireless security and/or network key.
Setting Up the Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge to Connect to an Ad-Hoc Network
Connect the wireless bridge to your computer’s Ethernet port using an Ethernet cable.
NOTE: An Ethernet cable is also referred as an Internet cable.
Assign your computer a static IP address. For instructions, click here.

Access the wireless bridge’s web-based setup page. For instructions, click here.
Look for the SSID field and enter the wireless network’s SSID.
Look for Network Type and choose Ad-Hoc from the drop-down menu then select the same channel the Ad-Hoc network is using.
If WEP is not configured in your network, look under Security and select Disable then proceed to Step 11. If WEP is enabled, select Enable under Security. Click Edit Security Settings then proceed to the steps below.
When the WEP Encryption window appears, select the same Default Transmit Key as your router’s. In this example, we selected 1.
Select the same WEP Encryption level either 64Bit(10 hex digits) or 128Bit(26 hex digits). In this example we selected 64Bit(10 hex digits).
Enter the wireless network’s WEP Key based on the Default Transmit Key selected. Since we selected Key 1, we’ll enter the WEP Key in the Key 1 field.
When the web-based setup page reappears, click Site Survey. When the Site Survey window appears, click Refresh and select your wireless network’s SSID by clicking on it.
