Streaming Music with the WHA Devices

Wireless Home Audio (WHA) devices are able to stream music that is stored in your computer running Windows XP or Windows Vista. Besides that, the WHA can also stream media files stored on network storages or MediaHub such as the NAS200 and NMH300/400. Even media files stored on USB storage devices connected to router like WRT350N, WRT600N and WRT610N can be stream from the WHA devices.

To stream music stored from your computer through the WHA devices, follow the instructions below:

Step 1:
Install Media Center applications through LELA 3.1. For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
Right click the Media Server icon on the lower right hand corner of your screen and select Start. The icon will turn green once Media Server is running.

Step 3:
Next, launch the Media Player by clicking on the  shortcut located on the desktop.

NOTE: Once the Media Player is launched, select the media sources where your media files are stored. In this example, we will stream songs from a computer which has been turned into the Media Server. The computer name is LENOVO-ABCE0….

Step 4:
Double-click on LENOVO-ABCE0…. to browse through the contents. External storage devices such as the NMH and NAS200 will be listed under the media sources section as well.

Step 5:
Once you have accessed the contents, select from the lists according to Genres, Artists or Albums. The album will then list out the song that is grouped under this particular artist. Right-click on the song and select Play to Zone and select the zone where you want the song to be played.

NOTE: The songs will be streamed through the WHA device in the zone you have selected previously. And the player will show the duration of the songs and control for that particular WHA device.
