5. What is Secure Easy Setup™ (SES)?

It's an easy way to set up wireless settings on both the router and wireless adapter.

6. How does Secure Easy Setup™ (SES) work?

When the Brand logo button on the router is pushed, it will automatically generate a Wireless Network Name or SSID, for example, Linksys_SES_4723, and WPA PSK.  Then, the Secure Easy Setup™ button in the WLAN software and/or setup CD should be enabled too.  Once both buttons are pushed, a profile will automatically be created in the WLAN containing the unique SSID and WPA PSK.  At that point, a secure wireless connection is established.

7. Will I be able to setup more than one (1) wireless computer using Secure Easy Setup™ (SES)?

Yes, as long as the other computer’s wireless adapter supports Secure Easy Setup™ (SES).  The SSID and WPA key won’t change each time you press it as long as the router’s Reset button doesn't get pushed.

8. What is AP Isolation and what is used for?

AP Isolation creates a separate virtual network for your wireless network.  When this feature is enabled, each of your wireless clients will be in its own virtual network and will not be able to communicate with each other.  You may want to utilize this feature if you have many guests that frequent your wireless network.

9. What DDNS providers does the WRT54GS support?

The supported providers are DynDNS.org and TZO.

10. Is it possible to wirelessly connect my TV or other wireless devices to a computer that is connected to my router?

3. What can I do if I cannot get online simultaneously on multiple devices?

Most issues can be resolved by doing a powercycle.  To do this, unplug the power cord from your router and wait for 10 seconds before plugging it back in.

In case the powercycle doesn’t work, you need to ensure that your computer is properly connected to your router’s Ethernet port.  You can do this by checking whether the corresponding LED on the router where your computer is connected to is lit.

When using wireless devices, you also need to check that the computers are properly connected to your wireless network.  To know more about connecting wireless computers to your network, click here.  To know more on how to resolve intermittent wireless signal, click here.

If you're still having connectivity problems for both wired and wireless devices, you may need to download and upgrade the router’s firmware.  To learn how to do this, click here.
