- Encountering Difficulties Connecting a Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge to a Non-Linksys Router
Before trying to connect your Wireless-G Ethernet Bridge to a non-Linksys Wireless router, make sure you have these wireless settings:
• Network name or SSID
• Wireless Security or Network Key
If you do not have these settings, consult your wireless router’s user guide or contact the manufacturer for assistance.
Setting-Up the Wireless-G Bridge
Connect the Wireless Ethernet Bridge to your router using an Ethernet cable.
Access the Wireless-G Bridge’s web-based setup page. For instructions, click here.
NOTE: If you are using Mac to access the Wireless-G Bridge’s web-based setup page, click here.
On the Ethernet Bridge’s setup page appears, look for the SSID field and enter the wireless network’s SSID.
On the Network Type, select Infrastructure.
If WEP is enabled, select Enable then click Edit Security Settings.
NOTE: If WEP is not enabled on the wireless router, select Disable under Security then proceed to Step 10.
On the WEP Encryption window appears, select the same Default Transmit Key as your router’s. In this example, we selected 1 is used.
Select the same WEP Encryption level your router is using, either 64Bit(10 hex digits) or 128Bit (26 hex digits). In this example, we selected 64Bit (10 hex digits).
Enter the wireless network’s WEP Key based on the Default Transmit Key selected.
On the web-based setup page, click Site Survey > Refresh select your wireless network’s SSID by clicking it.
