Accessing the Linksys WAP1200AC’s web-based setup page

The Linksys WAP1200AC AC1200 Wi-Fi Access Point is the latest in the AC-series access points which utilizes the Cross Band technology.  It can be used as a Wireless Range Extender or a Wired Access Point.  Both functions maximize simultaneous use of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands for high-speed data transfer, uninterrupted streaming, and gaming.  
 
This article will guide you on how to access your Linksys WAP1200AC’s web-based setup page. 
 
Step 1:
Open a web browser.
 
Step 2:
Do one of the following to log in to the Linksys WAP1200AC’s web-based setup page:
 
i.  Enter "http://ap.linksys.com" in the Address bar, then press [ENTER].
  
NOTE:  You must be connected to the SSID of the Linksys WAP1200AC to do this.     
 
ii.  Enter "http://WAP1200AC-xxx" for Windows users, where xxx are the last three (3) characters of the Linksys WAP1200AC’s MAC address.  The MAC address is located at the back label of the device.
 
NOTE:  If you changed your Linksys WAP1200AC's name, then you will need to use the custom name (eg. http://MyAP).
 
iii.  Enter "http://WAP1200AC-xxx.local" for Mac® users, where xxx are the last three (3) characters of the Linksys WAP1200AC’s MAC address.  The MAC address is located at the back label of the device.      

NOTE:  If you changed your Linksys WAP1200AC's name, then you will need to use the custom name (eg. http://MyAP.local).
 
iv.  Enter the Linksys WAP1200AC’s IP address.​
 
NOTE:  If the Linksys WAP1200AC does not detect a DHCP server, the default IP address is 192.168.1.1.  Otherwise, you will need to look up your range extender’s IP address in the DHCP table.  To know how to do this using a Linksys Wi-Fi Router, click here.  If you are using a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router, click here.
 
QUICK TIP:  Some options may not be available in Access Point mode due to the design and functionality as an access point.
 
Step 3:
A prompt for an administrative Password will appear.  If you changed your password, enter your customized password.  Otherwise, enter the default “admin” on the appropriate field then click Login.
