Installing or Removing the SFP Transceiver Modules on your Linksys Managed Switch

The Linksys Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) and Enhanced Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP+) Transceiver Modules, LACGSX, LACGLX, LACXGSR, and LACXGLR extend Ethernet range without sacrificing performance or reliability.
 
The steps below will show you how to set up the Linksys SFP and SFP+ Transceiver Modules on your Linksys Managed Switch.

i. Small Form?Factor Pluggable (SFP)
 
Connect the LACGSX / LACGLX on the SFP port of the switch.
 
 
NOTE:  Use only on ports labeled as SFP ports on the LGS552 or LGS528 switches.
 
ii. Enhanced Small Form?Factor Pluggable (SFP+)
 
Connect the LACXGSR / LACXGLR into the XG1 or XG2 ports of the switch.
 
 
NOTE:  Use only on XG1 or XG2 ports on the LGS552 switch.
 
QUICK TIP:  The SFP Modules have a side that clips to the connector on the port of the switch, and is designed to prevent the module from being inserted the wrong way into the port.  Do NOT force module into the port.

Removing the SFP and SFP+ Transceiver Modules

Step 1:
Pull down on the handle bar.
 

Step 2:
Gently slide out the SFP / SFP+ Transceiver Module.
