Configuring the Access Control List on a LGS528P Switch

The Access Control List (ACL) enables network managers to define patterns (filters and actions) for traffic ingress.   Packets entering the device on a port or LAG with an active ACL are either admitted or denied entry.   ACL definitions can also be used to define traffic flows in Quality of Service (QoS).

This article will provide you the instructions on how to configure the Access Control List on a LGS528P Switch Using the MAC Address:

Adding ACL
ACL Binding

II. Shutdown– The 2nd Rule is to Shutdown the Port if it’s a wrong MAC.  This rule is to deny any MAC address which is not associated.

QUICK TIP:  To test this, you may unplug the device connected to the port where you created ACL and connect any device to that port.  The port will automatically shut down once the MAC address is not correct.  The Port will be not be activated anymore unless you do it manually under Port Management.

To re-activate the Port, follow the steps below:

Step 1:
Go to Configuration > Port Management > Port.  Click on the Port and then Edit.

Step 2:
Check Reactivate then click Apply.
