Connecting to a wireless network with the AE6000 using Wi-Fi Protected Setup™

The Wireless Mini USB Adapter AC580 Dual Band, AE6000 is capable of connecting to Linksys routers using Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS).  You don’t have to enter the wireless password when connecting to wireless networks using WPS.

QUICK TIP:  Dual band technology can operate in both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio bands which helps minimize interference.  Operation may be selectable (one band at a time) or simultaneous, doubling available wireless bandwidth and network capacity.  To know more about the difference between the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands, click here.

After setting up the adapter with the Setup Wizard, you will be presented with a list of available wireless networks.  Follow the steps below to connect to a wireless network with your AE6000 adapter using WPS.

Step 1:
Click the Use Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ to connect link.

Step 2:
Press the WPS button on the router then click Connect or press the WPS button on the AE6000 adapter within two (2) minutes.

NOTE:  Alternatively, if you want to use a PIN to connect, click the Use a PIN to connect link and follow the on-screen instructions.

Wait while the adapter is connecting to your router.

Step 3:
Your adapter is now successfully set up and connected to the wireless network.  Click Close to complete the process.
