Encountering Problems when a Computer Doesn't Recognize the Bluetooth USB Adapter

If the computer does not recognize the Bluetooth USB adapter, follow the guidelines below.

Making sure the adapter is properly connected to the USB port

Ensure that the Linksys USBBT100 is properly connected to the computer. To ensure the USB adapter is properly connected to the computer, click here.

Disconnecting and Reconnecting the adapter

Disconnect the Bluetooth adapter from the computer then reconnect the adapter to the same USB port where it is connected.

Using a different USB port

This means the USB port may be defective. If the computer is unable to recognize the USBBT100, you can also try plugging the adapter to another port.

Reinstall the Driver

Make sure that you install the Bluetooth adapter driver correctly to ensure its functionality. If your computer is unable to recognize the device, there is a possibility that the Bluetooth driver is corrupted. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Bluetooth driver may solve the problem. Do note however that before you reinstall your driver, uninstall your existing Bluetooth adapter driver completely before proceeding to reinstall the driver.
