- Enabling Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) for Wireless-N ADSL2 gateway
Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) is one of the wireless security features of your Linksys Wireless-N ADSL and X Series gateway. It automatically searches and establishes a connection with your Wi-Fi Protected Setup-supported wireless device by pressing the WPS button. The WPS LED is continuously lit when a Wi-Fi Protected Setup connection is successfully established. However, it blinks slowly while Wi-Fi Protected Setup is setting up a connection, and blinks rapidly in amber if an error occurs. The LED goes OFF when Wi-Fi Protected Setup is idle.
NOTE: Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) can only be enabled if your client device is also WPS-compatible.
Access the router’s web-based setup page. For instructions, click here.
NOTE: instructions on how to access the web-based setup page using a Mac® computer, click here.
On the Setup page, click the Wireless tab.
Select the radio button for Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS).
NOTE: In case you are connecting client devices that do not support the Wi-Fi Protected Setup feature, enter the wireless security settings of the gateway manually instead.
Click Save Settings.
