1. How do I upgrade the Firmware on the WAP610N?
The WAP610N is a Wireless-N Access Point with Dual Band based on IEEE 802.11n and optimized for video transmission. WAP610N can operate in either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz radio bands and it is backward-compatible with widely deployed 802.11a/b/g infrastructure.
There is no default IP address. The device uses DHCP from your router to get an IP address.
By default, the username is left blank and the password is admin.
The speed is 10/100 Mbps.
To reset your WAP610N to factory defaults, press and hold the Reset button at the access point’s back for 30 seconds.
Alternatively, you can also reset the WAP610N by following these steps:
Log in to the access point’s web-based setup page.
Click on Administration tab > Factory Defaults sub-tab.
Click on Restore All Settings.
The WAP610N adapter uses 12 Volts, 1 Amp.
No, the device uses internal antennas which are the only ones the WAP610N can use.
There is no wall mount available for WAP610N.
The Power LED lights up to indicate that the access point is powered ON.
The Wireless LED lights up when there is a wireless connection. The LED flashes when the access point is actively sending or receiving data over the wireless network.
The LED flashes blue for two (2) minutes during Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) synchronization. It lights up blue when wireless security is enabled. If there is an error during the WPS process, then the LED lights up amber.
The Ethernet LED lights up when there is a wired connection. The LED flashes when the access point is actively sending or receiving data over the Ethernet port.

The WAP610N is compatible with six (6) wireless security types, including WEP 64/128 bit, WPA, WPA2, WPA Enterprise, and WPA2 Enterprise.
No. The WAP610N only supports WEP with HEX format security key. If you are using the WAP610N with a gateway that was set to WEP ASCII format, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to get assistance.
No, only one (1) band can be used at a time.
The WAP610N does not support Power over Ethernet (PoE).
No, WAP610N can only work in access point mode. You will need an access point with bridge mode capability, e.g. WET610N, to connect other devices wirelessly.

Click on Administration > Firmware Upgrade tab, click the Choose File button and select the new firmware file.

Click the Start to Upgrade button.
NOTE: Do not power OFF or press the Reset button while upgrading the firmware of the access point. The WAP610N will reboot automatically after the firmware upgrade is completed.
