Accessing the web-based setup page of the Linksys X-series Gateway

The web-based setup page is the advanced interface where you can access and configure the features of your gateway including wireless settings, network security, port forwarding, the Guest network feature and many more.

This article will guide you in accessing the web-based setup page of the Linksys X-series Gateways (X1000, X2000, X3000 and X3500).

NOTE:  Before you begin, make sure that the gateway is powered ON.

Step 1:
Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to your computer and the other end to port 1, 2, 3 or 4 at the back of the gateway.

Step 2:
Check the LED on your gateway and ensure that the corresponding LED of the port where your computer is connected to is lit.

If it is not lit, unplug the Ethernet cable from the gateway then try connecting it to another Ethernet port at the back or use another cable instead.

Step 3:
On your computer, launch a web browser such as Internet Explorer.

Step 4:
Enter the IP address of your gateway on the Address bar then press [Enter].

NOTE:  192.168.1.1 is the default IP address of the Linksys X-series Gateway.

Step 5:
On the User name and Password prompt, enter “admin” on both fields.  Press [Enter] or click OK to login.

NOTE:  If you have already set a personalized username and password, use these information instead.

You should now have accessed the web-based setup page of the gateway.
