Changing your Linksys WAP300N’s LAN IP Address

The default network configuration type of the Linksys WAP300N is set to Automatic Configuration - DHCP.  If you want to change this setting and set up a specific IP address for your access point, follow the steps below:

Step 1:
Access the Linksys WAP300N’s web-based setup page.  To do this, launch a web browser, enter the IP address of the WAP300N on the Address bar and press Enter.

NOTE:  If you are using a Mac® computer, to access the web-based setup page, click here.

Step 2:
Select Static IP from the Device IP dropdown menu.

Step 3:
Enter the necessary information in the following fields:

NOTE:  When changing the network settings of the Linksys WAP300N, make sure they are in the same segment as your network.

IP Address — Enter a unique IP address “192.168.1.x” where x is any number from 2 to 253
Subnet Mask — Enter the subnet mask of your network
Default Gateway — Enter the IP address of the default gateway for your network

Step 4:
Click .

NOTE:  The Linksys WAP300N will reboot after applying these settings.  Make sure to use the IP address you set for the access point when accessing its web-based setup page the next time.
