Rated 1 out of 5 by from Router password you setup in wizzard does not work After you set it up using the wizzard (you cannot cancel wizzard & do manually) The router p.w. you set up with the wizzard does not work after 5 tries you are locked out & have to reset and start over. After several tries still the same outcome. Verry frusterated with this router!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No wireless bridge mode Unable to configure as wireless bridge. Only "Bridge Mode", meaning "mesh router". The description of the unit indicated "non-mesh router".

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It changes admin password randomly I have escalated this issue to Linksys and the only solution I was provided was that the password can't contain characters, and when the router does, it will eventually lock you out, leaving you with no choice but to have to factory reset the router. Also for something as new as this, it's surprising it doesn't connect to an app for management.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great basic router This router works great however; I have to say that besides the cool Wifi6 symbol on your smartphone, that's about it. If it had been marketed as a basic router I would have been blown away. It has a partial ax offering and that's about it. It works solidly as a router. It works solidly as a wired bridge. As a wireless bridge, it falls miserably short as it will not connect to my main router. I have tried two of them with the same results. I have spoken with three chat agents and one phone agent who had me do the same troubleshooting that I had done ten plus times to no avail. I'm supposed to be getting a return call from the tech specialists to see if they can resolve the issue. I do not like being very demanding..I just like for stuff to do what it says it will do.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What the heck!!!!! Bought this off of Amazon as an update to my older router. Spectruim said the older one could not handle the faster bandwidth they use. It worked find for a week and a half. Out of the blue my network disappeared. The smart wifi app couldn't find the network. It dropped it and replaced it with the original setup network. Had to use the basic 198 network link to access the router. Set the setting back to the settings I had and my network came back up but the app wont access it. It says the router isnt supported!! Cant even find the router by going online! Says their no internet connection. How can that be cause I went to Linksys .com to try and access it?? now I can't access the new router cause it cant be found. Never had this problem with any of the Linksys routers I have had over the years. My phones and laptop still access the invisible network and it working for now, but cant tell when it will disappear again. Updated the invisible network to get it back online, still can't find it with the app or online. Just saying , Can you fix this?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from ipad, Macbook cannot access WiFi of Linksys E8450 Hi! i setup ok Linksys E8450, all smartphone, tivi can access to WiFi, but ipad, macbook cannot access wifi. I checked, it's connected to wifi but not getting ip address. Although the address range is from 192.168.10.2 to 192.168.10.253 when i set static ip (LAN) for the device, it got internet. I have tried changing the wifi encryption method, reboot, but it doesn't seem to improve. I'm using EasyMesh (2 packs E8450). Can check it and fix it soon.

is it a modem/router or only router

Asked by: helmy
Hi, Helmy. The Linksys E8450 doesn’t have a modem capability. It only supports router feature and needs to be connected to a modem for it to work. To know more about the product, here’s a link for your reference: https://www.linksys.com/support-article?articleNum=317344#s1.

Can I put this between my TP_Link mesh router and cable modem just for Parentral controls use it just to for parentral contols? If so, is there an app for my mobile phone that will let me access the modem for parentral controls?

Asked by: Kristoper
Hi, Kristoper. Adding the E8450 will create a separate network from your existing Mesh system. Also, the parental control feature can only manage devices that are directly connected to the router. If the mesh router has its network, the E8450 will not detect any devices connected to it because of the firewall. Lastly, the E8450 does not support the Linksys app and can only be managed using its browser-based settings.

It's a non-mesh router. The introduction videos shows that you can add another E8450 router to a parent router. So this router looks like a mesh router. I am confused. Why is it non-mesh router?

Asked by: kbsoo92
Hi! The Linksys E8450 features EasyMesh technology that allows you to set up a mesh system. With the latest firmware, you can add EasyMesh child nodes to extend your WiFi.

Is there a maximum number of AX3200 routers that can be included in a single SSID mesh? (I have a 6000+ sq feet 3 story home plus large garage and an out building and so am wondering if 2 routers will be sufficient or if a 3rd or 4th router needed.)

Asked by: fredk
Hi, fredk. You can add another Linksys E8450 as your child node depends on your Network needs. For more details, please refer to this link as your guide: https://www.linksys.com/support-article?articleNum=317894.

Why is the E8450 router not on the list of compatible routers for the Linksys Smart WiFi App? Especially since you continue to come out with new and more updated routers, they should all be compatible and have access to the Smart Wifi App.

Asked by: Deede
Hi, Deede. Please know that this is a product design and the Linksys E8450 can only be configured through the web UI.

Does it support NAS?

Asked by: Tomamu
No, Tomamu. It only has a USB storage feature to connect one USB drive to the parent node and share your files.

Can you hardwire mesh access points or is it wireless only?

Asked by: BadWolfie
Hi, BadWolfie, Are you trying to connect your computer to the network or trying to add a node to your current mesh network? Do you have the E8450 as your parent node? The router's Easy Mesh technology is only available wirelessly. However, you can wire your computer to it for internet access.
