Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lose Connection on Power Failure When this router works it's fine, but when you lose power or have any other difficulty, forget trying to get it back online. I'm done with this product and the 2 Linksys WAP300n access points I have installed. The access points aren't the issue, and there are plenty of more upgraded products in the marketplace for someone who doesn't have an IT degree to manage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from a very serious upgrade i bought the ae 8300 about three years ago when i started having glitchy/laggy internet around the house. I was paying for 50 mg down and only getting about 25. it was super easy to set up and the speed increase was immediate. no more glitch. soon after getting the ae 8300 i up graded my internet to 350 down 30 up. and this thing works like a champ. i can stream two movies and have an Xbox going and everybody is happy (I also have 11 ip cams, and a house full of internet connected crap-like my laundry dryer). the only cons I have are: on the "network map" it misidentifies way too many connected devices! sometimes ip addresses are wrong, sometimes it will ID a device as Apple, and it is not. Devices show as connected via ethernet cable when they are wi fi. like my iphone will always show up as wired connection and it never has been. This problem greatly limits the effectiveness of the parental controls (and threfore counts as a second problem). there is no bandwidth monitoring by device!! really? so close to a 5 star router. soon I will be using it as an access point and maybe it will earn that last star.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good router but… I never saw speeds abotve 400 gbs. I have GB internet now and this is only getting about 400-450 gbs and its hard wired. So i’m not entirely sure where the 2200gbs claim comes from…. Overall its a good router these days, i had it for about 3 years maybe 4 and it has served me well. Upgraded to the eero pro 6 though and its head and shoulders better so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Router! I have had this router for a year now and it has made all the difference in connectivity and speed. Without it, I had very bad lagging and poor connectivity with my new 1GB internet connection. I was not able to access the speed and bandwidth until I hooked up this router with the help of excellent technical support. I really like the software interface as well. It has made it easy to troubleshoot issues. This router was well worth the money and has allowed me to routinely get 840+MB Uploads and downloads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Peasee Nice 'n Easy I purchased this online from a trusted retailer. No cable modem attachment. No worries for me, as FIOS had run an ethernet connection, at the time of installation. Please know that this modem was the final step in me cutting the cable, and subscribing a-la-carte services. I have trusted Linksys over the years and was pleased to find a rock-bottom price. In the user menu there is a drag 'n drop area where you can prioritize your wifi connected items. I choose to only priority our Firestick. After running a speed check (with ping) included in the Linksys menu options, I was happy to see that I was running at full speed with my Fios connection. This was in contrast to the poor performance of the previously vendor supplied cable-modem. I am happy with the Linksys performance. Interestingly, one of our older wifi enabled printers AUTOMATICALLY connected into the newly established network. The only finishing touch, for one our devices, a MacBook Pro, was to delete the old printer, and re-install with Airport as a default driver. Seriously, this was as easy as you could imagine. My wife's iPad and iPhone application printed as expected, as the printer and her devices were on the same network. Again, no glitches with Linksys. There are no complaints. Even the "guest' network was off, by default. It appears that this modem services multiple devices, on separate bandwidths, automatically. What a great leap in wifi, or have I been too trusting with an out of date modem supplied by my vendor? Probably so. If I have learned anything from this process, is I COMPLETELY recommend cutting cable, buying the Linksys Max Stream AC2200 Tri Band Wifi Router (EA8300) ONLY if you have a wired connection to your Fios. If you were lucky enough to have an ethernet connection option to your Fios, then this Linksys AC2200 is for YOU!!!

*Two or more 1x1 MU-MIMO-enabled client devices must be connected to achieve the two (2) times faster physical data rate.

†The standard transmission rates—400 Mbps or 867 Mbps (for 5 GHz), 400 Mbps (for 2.4 GHz), 54 Mbps, and 11 Mbps—are the physical data rates. Actual data throughput will be lower and may depend on the mix of wireless products used and external factors.
