Setting-Up the Wireless-G 3G Router with 3G Connection

The WRT54G3G router lets your whole network share a Mobile Broadband Internet connection (requires a Mobile Broadband Data Card, available separately).

To setup a Linksys router with a 3G connection you need to perform two steps:

  1. Setting-Up 3G Connection Using WRT54G3G
  2. Setting-Up 3G/UMTS Network Using WRT54G3G  

Setting-Up 3G Connection Using WRT54G3G

Step 1:
Access the router’s web-based setup page. For instructions, click  here.

Step 2:
When the router’s web-based set-up page appears, select the Service that the Mobile Network require. In this example 3G/UMTS Preferred was selected.

Setting-Up 3G/UMTS Network Using WRT54G3G

Step 1:
When the router’s web based setup page appears, click 3G/UMTS Network.

Step 2:
Under Auto Connect, select Enable.

Step 3:
Under Home Network, select the Network which provides your Service.

Step 4:
Enter the APN Name, User Name, and Password as required by the Mobile Network.

Step 5:
Under PIN Code, enter the SIM card’s PIN code.

Step 6:
The Mobile Network Status will display the Network’s signal strength, Connection Time, and Current Session Usage.

Step 7:
The 3G/UMTS Status will display the Card’s Model, Revision, and Card Firmware.
