Checking the IP address helps determine your computer's connectivity to a network. Click the links below for specific instructions.
NOTE: Steps may vary depending on whether your computer is connected via an ethernet cable or through Wi-Fi.

Step 1:
Click the Network icon located at the bottom-right corner of the desktop screen, then click Network & Internet settings.
NOTE: If you are using a Wi-Fi computer, click on the Wi-Fi icon first, then go to Network and Internet settings.
Step 2:
Under Network status, click on Change connection properties.
Step 3:
Under Properties, look for IPv4 address. In the example below, 192.168.254.115 is the IPv4 address.
Step 1:
Press the Windows key + D on your keyboard to show the desktop.
Step 2:
Right-click the Network icon located on the bottom-right corner of the desktop screen, then click Open Network and Sharing Center.
NOTE: If you are using a Wi-Fi computer, right-click on the Wi-Fi icon first, then go to Open Network and Sharing Center.
Step 3:
Click on Ethernet.
Step 4:
Click on Details... to view the Network Connection Details.
Step 5:
Look for IPv4 Address. In the example below, 192.168.1.89 is the IPv4 address.
