- Tips on resolving slow wireless connection on a Mac® computer and other Apple® devices
Slow wireless connectivity is mainly caused by the following factors:

Wireless security compatibility
It is highly recommended to use WPA/WPA2 or WPA to WPA2 to ensure wireless network stability and better security. Should your current wireless settings be set to WEP security, change it to any of the above mentioned security types. For instructions, click here.
Router firmware is outdated
With new firmware releases, you can resolve your wireless network’s slow connectivity by updating your Linksys router’s firmware. For instructions, click here.

Crowded preferred networks
Whenever you connect to any wireless network, your computer saves the network settings so the next time you’re at the same location, your computer will automatically connect to it. Wireless network settings tend to change when the administrator decides to change either the security type or the password itself. This setting can be corrupted and creating/deleting preferred networks may fix it. For instructions, click here.
DHCP auto settings not working
Changing the DHCP Server setting to Manual will provide a more stable connection with your wireless router. Make sure that you assign a higher IP address to your Mac® computer to avoid interference with your other computers or devices running on DHCP auto. Wireless signal compatibility
If your Linksys router’s wireless signal is set to an exclusive signal (i.e. Wireless B only or G only), set it to Mixed mode. It is best to set your network’s wireless signal to accommodate all types of wireless devices. This is to avoid exclusions of other devices you would like to use on your network.
