Upgrading the firmware on WGA600N (Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter)

To upgrade the firmware on the WGA600N, please follow the following steps:

NOTE: A firmware upgrade can't be performed from a wireless device.

Step 1:
Visit the download page from www.linksys.com and download the firmware upgrade file for WGA600N. Click here to learn how to download the firmware.

NOTE: Once the file has been downloaded, please make sure that the file is saved on your computer.

Step 2:
Open a browser such as Internet Explorer.

Step 3:
Go to the address bar and enter you Gaming Adapter's IP address ("192.168.1.250" is the default IP of Gaming Adapter) then press Enter.
 

NOTE: If you are unable to access the gaming adapter using this IP, you may try resetting the gaming adapter by pressing a paper clip into the "Reset" button on the back of the gaming adapter for 5 seconds. The default IP should then work.


Step 4:
A new window will prompt for a User name and Password. Enter your Gaming Adapter's username and password ("admin" is the default username and password), then click Log In.
 


Step 5:
The WGA600N's web-based utility page will be displayed. Click Tools tab and click Firmware.
 


Step 6:
Next, enter the location of the firmware file or click the Browse button to find the file that you have downloaded earlier.
 


Step 7:
Click the Upload button and follow the on-screen instructions to upload the firmware file once it has been located.
