Understanding the Live view screen

Linksys Aware is being discontinued. Current subscribers can continue to use the service until July 31st 2024. New subscriptions or renewals will no longer be available.

The Live View page shows the intensity of motion happening in your home.  If you have enough motion devices (three or more), you can see which device/location is detecting motion.

Movement is represented by waves.  The bigger the wave, the more intense the motion.

The page will display whether motion is being detected or not.  These are shown in the examples below:

No motion detected from any device

The activity in this section will depend on which devices are detecting motion.

In this network scenario, there are two nodes.  The parent node is called Office and the child node is called Living Room.  Other devices have also been added.

Each device that detects motion will have a colored line assigned to it.

In the example below, blue is assigned to Amazon Echo Dot, purple is assigned to Roku Garage, and green is assigned to Wyze Yard.  This means motion is happening within the location where the devices are located.  All other grayed out devices are currently not detecting motion.

NOTE:  If you have three or more devices, you can view location-specific motions through the color-coded names.  However, if you have only two devices, it will not show location-specific motion (no color coding).  You will only see generic motion wavy lines.  In the example below, the status shows that motion is detected but there is only one wavy line.  The devices will also be grayed-out; therefore, you cannot tell which device detected motion.  It is best if you add three or more devices.

As shown below, a red alert on the menu icon indicates that one of your devices is having a problem.  Tap on the icon to view which device is having the issue.

In this section, you can do the following:

  • View a list of all your devices that are part of Linksys Aware
  • Scan and add compatible devices (up to three devices per node)
  • Remove a device
  • View error messages for your Linksys Aware devices.  A red alert on the menu will notify you that one or more devices are having a problem.

NOTE:  Only devices can be removed, not your Linksys nodes.  If a node is offline, check on the status of the node in the Linksys app.  If the node is no longer part of your network, go to the Network Administration section of the Linksys app to remove it.

After you click on the menu, you will land on the Manage Devices page.

NOTE:  For Linksys nodes, this takes you to the Network Administration section in the Linksys app.
  • Remove device:  Tap this to remove the device from Linksys Aware.

NOTE:  This does not delete your device from your network.  It will only remove the device to act as a motion sensing device.  You can only remove devices and not Linksys nodes.

Alert notification on a node
Check on the status of your node.  In the example below, the node is offline.

NOTE:  If the node is no longer part of your network, go to the Network Administration section of the Linksys app to remove it.

Tap on the ellipsis icon to view what the problem could be.

If you have a wired node in your network, you will see the following message.

A device that is offline will show Offline on the list.
