If you have a Linksys Access Point with an older firmware version, you may experience trouble in updating it to the latest version. This is primarily because older versions do not support signed image features.
IMPORTANT: If your device is running an older firmware version, you need to upgrade your device to the transition firmware version first before loading the latest signed image version. To perform this update, follow the steps below.

Step 1:
Identify the firmware version of your Linksys Access Point. Refer to the table below to know whether you have an older version or a recent one.

- An old firmware version – update to the transition firmware then the latest version
- A transition firmware version – ready to update to the latest firmware version. Proceed to Step 3.
- The first signed image version – check if there’s a new firmware version available for your device. If there is, you may proceed with the update. To know how, click here.

IMPORTANT: If the transition firmware is not available in the Downloads page of your Linksys device, contact Linksys support to obtain it. Once you have saved the transition firmware, you may now update your device. To know how, click here.
