Below are the requirements for setting up the Linksys EA6350 v4:
  • An active internet connection
  • A Linksys server account for remote access
  • Browser requirements for setting up the router:  Latest version of Google Chrome™, Mozilla Firefox®, Safari®, Microsoft Edge® or Internet Explorer® version 8 or newer

Yes.

The router supports USB 3.0.

5.  What is the 802.11ac technology?

The 802.11ac technology works on the 5 GHz band.  The Linksys EA6350 v4 can have a speed of up to 867 Mbps wirelessly when matched with an 802.11ac adapter.

You can find the serial number on the sticker underneath the device.  
 
INITIAL SETUP


1.  How do I set up the router?

 
You can set up the router in two ways:
  • Through a web browser – You can set up the router on your computer through the Smart Setup wizard.  To learn how to do this, click here.
  • Through your mobile phone – You can also set up the router through your phone using the Linksys app.  To learn more, click here.

2.  Where can I see the default Wi-Fi name and password for the router?

You can find the router’s default Wi-Fi name and password in the quick start guide or at the bottom of the router.  For the 2.4 GHz radio, the label will display Linksysxxxxx where the x’s represent the last five characters of the router’s serial number.  For the 5 GHz radio, the default WiFi name is Linksysxxxxx_5GHz.

The router will broadcast the two names.  You can select any of the two Wi-Fi’s, preferably the 5 GHz if you see it on your device.  The same password applies for both.

 
3.  Can I change the router’s default Wi-Fi settings through the setup wizard?
 
Yes.  The setup wizard allows you to change the router's Wi-Fi settings to your liking.  Make sure to write down your changes.
 

4.  Can I connect a USB hub to the USB port of the router to accommodate multiple devices?

No.  Only USB hard drives are supported.


5.  Which Wi-Fi band can I use to achieve a speed of up to 867 Mbps?

You can connect to the 5 GHz band to achieve a speed of up to 867 Mbps with an 802.11ac adapter.  Your Wi-Fi should support 2 spatial streams to achieve this speed. 

6.  How do I reset the router to factory defaults?

There are two ways to reset the router to factory defaults:
  • Hardware reset – Press and hold the reset button at the back of the router for 10 seconds then release.
  • Software reset – Log in to your Linksys server account to access the router's web interface.  Under Router Settings, click Troubleshooting > Diagnostics, then, click Reset under Factory reset.
7.  What are the indicator lights on the router?

1.  What Wi-Fi security options does the router support?
 
The router supports WPA2
Personal and WPA2 Enterprise.  The default is WPA2 Personal.

2.  Does the router allow VPN tunnels to pass through the router?

Yes.  The router allows VPN tunnels using IPSec, L2TP, and PPTP protocols to pass through the router.

3.  Does the router support SPI firewall?

Yes. 

ADVANCED TROUBLESHOOTING

1.  How do I upgrade the router’s firmware?

Log in to the router’s web interface using your Linksys server account.  Go to Connectivity and under the Basic tab, check the Automatic box.  This will automatically upgrade the router if there is a new firmware available.  You may also click on Check for Updates to see if there is a new firmware available.

2.  The Parental Controls feature blocks “https” but returns an error page instead of redirecting to the Parental Controls screen.  Is this a normal behavior?

Yes.  Parental Controls can block web addresses that begin with “https”.  But because they have encryption, the router cannot redirect you to the Parental Controls screen.  You will see a browser error page instead of a page with the information that the address is blocked.

 
3.  What is port forwarding?

Port forwarding allows you to set up public services your network such as web servers, FTP servers, email servers or other internet applications such as videoconferencing or online gaming.  To learn how to set up single port forwarding on your router, click here

4.  What is port triggering?
