Managing the Linksys WUSB6300 v2 wireless USB adapter on a Mac computer

This article will teach you how to manage the Linksys WUSB6300 v2 Dual-Band WiFi 5 USB Adapter using the native Wi-Fi utility on your Mac® computer.

NOTE:  The images and steps may vary if you are using the Linksys WUSB6300 v1.

  • Green Wi-Fi icon - Connected with a good signal.

  • Orange Wi-Fi icon - Connected with a low signal.

  • Adapter icon - Not connected to a Wi-Fi.

  • Adapter icon with a red x - The adapter is either not plugged in or turned OFF.  To resolve this, make sure that the adapter is connected to a USB port, click on the icon then click on the option to turn ON the device.

Connecting to the Wi-Fi network

Step 1:
Click on the Linksys WUSB6300 v2 icon on the menu bar and click on your Wi-Fi.  Enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted and click on Join.

Once it’s connected, the signal bars will turn green.

To use other type of connections, choose from the following options at the bottom:

1.  Join Other Network - This option allows you to manually connect to another Wi-Fi.  Click on the Show Networks button to see the list of available Wi-Fi.

2.  WPS - This option allows you to connect to your router or access point using the WPS feature.  To know how to connect using the WPS, click here.

3.  Edit Preferred Networks - This option is similar to the other options under Join Other Network.  Clicking this option will take you directly to the available Wi-Fi you want to join in.

You can also select your saved Wi-Fi profile to edit the Wi-Fi name or password or even remove the profile.
