The Device List page displays the list of devices that have connected to the router.
The Guest Access page allows you to configure your dual-band Guest Wi-Fi settings. Your Guest Wi-Fi uses WPA2™ WiFi encryption.
Parental Controls is used to manage the usage and block internet access on a connected device or of specific sites per device.
The Linksys router can give devices on your home network priority for internet access. You can choose up to three devices – wired or wireless – to move to the front of the WiFi line. The rest of the devices on your network will share the remaining bandwidth. You might want to assign priority for work devices, devices that stream video or devices that you use for online gaming. To know how to configure this feature, click here.
NOTE: This feature is only for Linksys MX4200SH.
Mobile Gaming allows you to prioritize internet usage per device. High Priority devices (wired or via WiFi) will always stay connected. Normal Priority devices share the leftover capacity. Drag and drop devices to change from Normal Priority to High Priority and vice versa. You may click on Reset Mobile Gaming to reset this page.
It is recommended to put devices used to stream videos or play online games and other demanding application on High Priority.
The Speed Check feature helps measure the download (from the internet) and upload (to the internet) speeds of your WiFi. It is a good way to find out whether you are getting the level of service provided by your ISP.
Download Speed is the rate at which internet content is transferred to your mesh system.
Upload Speed is how quickly you can upload content to the internet.
NOTE: Speeds may vary depending on several factors, including how many devices are connected to your WiFi and what those devices are doing.
The External Storage feature of the node allows you to connect an external storage device into the USB port on the node and share the entire drive. This feature is not present in other mesh systems.
If there is more than one USB hard drive connected to several nodes in the same network, the list of drives will also display.
NOTE: The External Storage widget will only display on the parent node.
The following settings will be displayed:
When Authentication is enabled, access to the storage device will be available only to those who have the username and password that you have set. Authentication is disabled by default.
The username should have a minimum of four and maximum of 12 alphanumeric characters while the password should have a minimum of four and maximum of 50 alphanumeric characters. Both can include characters such as an underscore ( _ ) or a dash ( — ).
The Connectivity page has the following tabs:
The Troubleshooting page allows you to diagnose and troubleshoot problems you may be having in your network. It provides useful information about your connected devices and network details. You can also reset or restart your mesh system on this page.
NOTE: Wireless Security options vary by model.
