How to Backup and Restore the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router settings using the local access interface

The Backup and Restore configuration feature in the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router allows you to backup all configurations made to the router. Step 1:

On the left navigation pane, click the Troubleshooting Tool under Router Settings.

Step 3:
Click the Diagnostics tab.

To start the Backup and Restore process of your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router’s configuration, follow these steps:

Backup configuration

Step 1:
On the Router configuration section, click Backup.

Step 2:
A new window will prompt you to save the configuration file (with .cfg file extension). Tick the Save File option and click OK.

Restore configuration

Step 1:
On the Router configuration section, click Restore.

Step 2:
A new window will prompt you to choose the configuration file (with .cfg file extension) you have saved earlier. Click the Choose File button and browse for the configuration file.

Step 3:
Select the configuration file and click Open.

Step 4:
Click Start to Restore to begin the process.

Step 5:
A new window will then display asking if you want to continue. Click Yes.

NOTE: When the Restore process is finished, the router will automatically reboot which may take a few minutes.
